History
Established in 1973, Willmot Public School has grown into a leading public primary school in the Mount Druitt region, built on a proud history of commitment to our students and community.
In 2023, we celebrated our 50th anniversary, and in 2025 unveiled a new logo—created after significant community consultation—symbolising the beautiful Cumberland Plains on which our school stands.

From the very beginning, our vision has been clear: students are at the centre of everything we do. We are dedicated to quality teaching, deep learning, and the development of thinking skills, while ensuring student equity, wellbeing, and a strong connection to environmental sustainability. Through programs such as the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden, we bring real-life experiences into everyday learning, enriching our students’ understanding and engagement.
We provide a safe, caring, and inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to grow academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Literacy and numeracy remain the foundation of all learning, and our data-driven, explicit teaching ensures every student has the skills, curiosity, and confidence to thrive—both at school and beyond.
Our approach goes beyond the classroom. We work closely with families, local organisations such as Willmot Hub and The Smith Family, and networks of schools to create culturally relevant learning opportunities that connect school to home and community. Consistent attendance, positive relationships, and high aspirations are key to lifting student achievement, and we take pride in building those foundations together.
Willmot Public School is a small school with a vibrant culture that reflects the rich diversity of our students, families, and staff. Our teaching and learning programs are creative, responsive, and designed to give students much more than “the basics”—empowering them to be safe, respectful learners who take responsibility for their progress.
The voices of our students affirm the impact of this approach. The annual statewide NSW Public Schools survey consistently shows that our students rate their teachers as caring, friendly, and fair, feel happier at school than most peers across the state, and hold positive, optimistic hopes for their future.
Every year offers new opportunities to work together for the benefit of our children and families. Our door is always open, and our commitment remains the same as it was in 1973—to teach your children well, walk alongside you in their learning journey, and ensure they leave Willmot Public School with a strong sense of belonging, the skills to succeed, and a love of learning that will last a lifetime.

School Song
(1)
Come let us sing our school song
Lift our voices loud and strong
Here we are friends together
Here we work and here we play
(2)
Willmot, Willmot is our school
We shall do our best always
So when at last we leave here
Bright memories will remain
(3)
Willmot, Willmot is our school
We shall do our best always
So when at last we leave here
Bright memories will remain
