At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.

School support dogs
As part of our student wellbeing plan, our school has a school support dog program. Ella and Ivy have made a positive impact on our students and have enhanceds our learning environment.

There are many benefits to our school support dog program including:
- Provides comfort and emotional support during times of stress or anxiety.
- Helps students feel calm, safe, and connected.
- Encourages empathy, kindness, and responsibility.
- Builds positive relationships between students, staff, and the school community.
- Reduces feelings of loneliness or isolation.
- Can lower stress levels, heart rate, and blood pressure.
- Provides a non-judgmental presence for students to talk to or sit with.
- Motivates students to attend school and participate in activities.
- Can be used in reading programs to help students practise in a relaxed, supportive way.
- Improves focus and concentration by helping students regulate their emotions.
- Encourages positive behaviour and cooperation.
- Gives students a healthy outlet to manage emotions.
- Helps with transitions and settling into the classroom.
- Creates a warm, welcoming environment.
- Strengthens community spirit and connection with families.
- Shows our school’s commitment to supporting the whole child — not just academic needs.
